At this very moment, I defrosted some of my mom's spaghetti sauce, and am eating it alone in my kitchen. Although this may seem like a sad sight.. I just can't contain my excitement. I just wanted to write it down here, so that I may share with you, but also to reflect back on this entry and praise Him.
I'm so thankful for who He is, and for His never-ending love.
I feel like I have been, and still partake in an invigorating adventure with Jesus. Even reflecting back on this summer... with its contant undulations (seasons of joy, delight, love... and seasons of loneliness, sorrow, bitterness), I see how it all fits in, and that I am who I am because of these times.
I love that God has been so generous to me, allowing me to continually learn... re-evaluate, repent, and change. I sit here excited for this particular year to come. Already I feel like He has been disciplining me through the summer, specifically through the LSATs and contention with my parents. Through the LSATs I can shout and proclaim that I, Angela Lee... cannot possibly succeed on my own. I get disappointed after every test, but in those times of disappointment, He orchestrates things so perfectly. Whether it is texts from my best friends, loving messages from Lindsay, sticky notes from Care's family, prayer of friends... dang. So much encouragement that I do not deserve. And yet He freely gives.
I also love that God really does give us the desires of our hearts. I sometimes think to myself... WHY am I so excited about ___ ? And I can see that it is through His providence that I have such desires. So what are some of these desires?
*I'm so excited to lead Bible Study with some first year girls... to teach them, and learn from them. To build them up with the Holy Spirit guiding me.
* I'm so excited to see God working powerfully on the campus through the ministry of prayer.
* I'm excited to develop deeper relationships with my non-Christian friends
* ^ and my Christian friends!!!
* I'm excited to "get my hands dirty" by being a part of the Hamilton community. For my thesis I can actually use my schooling to contribute back to this amazing community. ("Greater things are yet to come... greater things are still to be done... in HAMILTON!)
* I'm excited to get to know Lindsay more, learn from him, serve him, encourage him... share life with him.
So I've been thinking... It's not because of who *I* am that I have these aforementioned desires. Definitely not. No WAY.
To Him be the glory.
